The information that you have provided has so far been used to compile an initial report which will help us when we meet with Midlothian Council in the near future. To date just under 50% of households in the Damhead and District area have completed and returned the road survey form. Please feel free to return the survey form to us or write, email or attend our meetings with any trafic concerns you have. Another serious accident has occurred in Old Pentland Road today (7.7.10). It is the current community councils aim to work with residents, Midlothian Council and other concerned bodies to improve the safety of our roads throughout our term of office. Road Survey Please complete and return to chairperson@damheadcc.org.uk The next meeting of Damhead and District Community Council will be held at 7pm on 9th August 2010, within the Steading conservatory, Biggar Road. We have a guest speaker attending this meeting. Johanna Carrie from Transition Edinburgh Pentlands (TEP) a grassroots network of friendly people who work together on practical projects to help tackle Climate Change and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels will give a short talk. All residents welcome. HedgesThe new chairperson of Damhead and District Community Council has finally got round to cutting his roadside hedge........ its that time of year again. Please remember that our pavements are very narrow in places. New Community CouncillorTom Frankish was welcomed as a new Damhead and District Community Councillor at our meeting on 5th July 2010. This still leaves three full vacanciesResignation of Community CouncillorStuart Clark has written to the community council intimating his resignation from Damhead and District Community Council with immediate effect. Federation of Community Councils meeting minutes 16.6.10 SESplanA new planning system is being introduced by the Scottish Government. As a result of this a Main Issues Report has been produced. Residents and all other interested bodies have been invited to comment on this report. Comments must be submitted by 27th August 2010. SESplan Damhead and District Community Council As a result of the recent Damhead and District Community Council elections, the following persons were elected under Midlothian Council's Community Council election procedure and Damhead and District Community Council's Constitution. Stuart Clark Joanne Gillies Lorna Goudie Mark Simpson Since the full complement of the Damhead and District Community Council is seven members, there are three vacant places on the Community Council. Any eligible resident wishing to join as an elected member is requested to attend at the next meeting of the new Community Council,or contact Mark Simpson, chair,at chairperson@damheadcc.org.uk, prior to the above meeting.
